AI Engineer – ARC (Badger Group) | George, Western Cape

This isn’t a “keep the lights on” role.
It’s a build it, ship it, scale it role. Right here in George.

What you’ll do (the high-impact stuff):

Build the brains

You’ll design, develop, and deploy:

• Conversational AI agents
• Generative AI systems
• Automation engines
• Capacity-creating workflow bots

All built to enhance customer journeys, supercharge operations, and unlock real efficiencies across Badger International.

Make it all talk to each other

You’ll integrate AI into:

• WhatsApp (Infobip/Clickatell), Connex, Microsoft Copilot
• CRMs like HubSpot/Salesforce
• Internal ops systems & self-service portals
• Automation layers that reduce manual work to zero

Innovate, optimise, repeat

You’ll monitor performance, fine-tune models, apply telemetry, troubleshoot issues, and push every AI solution to peak performance.
If it can be automated, you’ll automate it.
If it can be smarter, you’ll make it smarter.

Partner with people, not just systems

You’ll translate business needs into actual AI solutions people can use.
You’ll guide teams, support rollouts, share knowledge, and help the organisation level up its AI literacy.

Guard the gates

You’ll ensure every AI system respects:

• POPIA
• GDPR
• Ethical AI standards
• Governance & security frameworks

Trustworthy tech is non-negotiable.

What you’ll need to bring:

Non-negotiables

• Hands-on experience building and deploying conversational AI/automation in production
• Strong Microsoft ecosystem skills: Copilot Studio, Power Automate, SharePoint, Azure AI Foundry
• Python proficiency (TensorFlow, LangChain, OpenAI API etc.)
• Integration mastery: WhatsApp/Messenger, CRM, ConnexAI, APIs, workflows
• Azure cloud deployment, monitoring and optimisation experience
• Confidence with Postman, VS Code, Docker and workflow automation
• Strong analytical and problem-solving superpowers
• Ability to explain complex tech in human language
• Understanding of privacy, compliance and ethical AI

Nice-to-haves (your cheat codes):

• Azure AI Foundry deployment and fine-tuning
• MLOps, CI/CD, version control
• AI governance + telemetry dashboards
• LLM architectures, prompt engineering, fine-tuning
• RAG pipelines, vector databases, retrieval systems
• Containerisation knowledge
• Cloud/AI platform certifications
