Hellen El Haimer, an independent non-executive director at Attacq and MD of the FM Institute, a facilities and property management consulting company and Nene Molefi, owner and MD of Mandate Molefi Human Resources Consultants and a member of the advisory board of the Auditor General of South Africa, will offer an interactive session.

The workshop will look at balancing business and life, while providing effective leadership in a male-dominated industry. The discussion will also explore how women can best work together in business for mutual gain, as well as the perceptions of businesswomen and how to change them.

Men are also invited to join the session, as it will also give tips to businessmen on having great working relationships with the businesswomen in their sphere. Practical insights and a question and answer session to help implement the tips in a particular situation will be available.

El Haimer is an admitted attorney with over 15 years of post-qualification in the legal, properties and facilities management fields, she brings a wealth of knowledge to the session, having held senior positions at the Department of Public Works and SARS. She was also responsible for the facilities and property management of ABSA’s national property portfolio and worked as a legal manager at Standard Bank.

Molefi’s interest in the field of change and transformation began when she worked at Eskom for a decade. She is a guest speaker and associate lecturer for the Gordon Institute for Business Science (GIBS) and Thabo Mbeki African Leadership Institution. Committed to social entrepreneurship, she is the chairperson of Umthombo WeSiswe Children’s Organisation – an initiative aimed at instilling a sense of dignity and developing ethical leaders for South Africa. She is also a board member of the Community Aids Response (CARE).

The event runs from 6pm-8.30pm, with drinks and finger snacks being served. The cost is R100 and, as seating is limited, advance booking is essential and can be made by emailing az.gro.tniopytreporp@ofni.
