Job description
Requirements:- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Information Science, Social Sciences, Library Science or related field
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a library environment
- Strong legal research skills (online databases and print resources)
- Knowledge of legal resources (case law, legislation, journals)
- Professional Librarian - OSALL - Organization of SA Law Libraries.
- Process new library materials and manage circulation (issuing and recalling items).
- Catalogue and index new information sources.
- Conduct legal research using internal and external resources.
- Respond to legal enquiries with accurate and relevant information.
- Provide reference and information services to employees.
- Run reports using the electronic library system.
- Maintain accurate library records and documentation.
- Curate and upload content (articles, legislation, case law) to the intranet.
- Manage subscriptions (serials and loose-leaf services).
- Identify and source new library materials (books, journals, electronic resources).
