New unit heads at NAB

The Newspaper Advertising Bureau (NAB) has appointed eight 'Unit Heads' to facilitate the sales of its increased community newspaper portfolio. With the exception of Marco Velosa, whose sole project will be Get-It Magazines, all sales staff will sell across all NAB represented titles.

Gill Randall, Joint Managing Director, says: "NAB has seen exponential growth through the addition of the previously Caxton owned and Capro represented newspapers, newly formed Urban News community papers, and the launch of community magazines 'Get-It'.

"This is in addition to the current portfolio of the Witness Group, Ilanga, Sunday Ilanga, and Johncom East London and Port Elizabeth titles, so it has become necessary to strengthen our sales team.

The new unit heads are: Viv Randall (General Sales Manager); Justine Williams (Gauteng Metropolitan Community Newspapers); Robert Bell (all communities previously with Capro, excluding KZN); Debbie Petersen (Johncom Publications - Eastern Cape); Brian Letsogo (Ilanga and all black titles including the Urban News series); Julie Smithers (KZN Caxton publications and Witness Group); Olav Westphal (New Business Development Manager - all products) and Heidi Theunissen (National Sales Executive).

A second National Sales Executive will be announced soon.

"Initially there may be a transition period in terms of implementing these different areas of responsibility but ultimately the process will benefit all involved by providing a central point of contact at NAB across all the publications. On behalf of the NAB team, we welcome the new publications to our stable and assure them, and our existing titles, our best attention at all times."
