Your TV guide to better living with HIV and AIDS

SABC Education and Community Health Media Trust (CHMT) have produced a 26 part television series on HIV and AIDS. Siyayinqoba Beat It, a new concept in combining HIV/Aids management and mass media, will be broadcast on SABC 1 at 10h30 from September 2, 2004.

This series provides treatment literacy and related information for people living with HIV and AIDS, their partners, families, friends and care givers.

The programme covers issues such as:
- The early and effective treatment of opportunistic infections.
- Nutrition and positive living.
- Prevention of mother to child transmission.
- Promotion of openness and safer sexual practices.

Siyayinqoba Beat It empowers people living with HIV and their support network to respond positively to HIV and AIDS. With a positive message about this disease, it supports the government's Operational Plan For Comprehensive HIV and AIDS Care, Management and Treatment. Siyayinqoba Beat It will play an important role in ensuring the success of the antiretroviral role-out in South Africa, and on the continent.
