Imagine being mentored by your favourite actress from Generations… or by the wardrobe mistress who dresses her… or even by one of the most popular soapie directors or its PR specialist. This dream of a lifetime is about to come true for four young South African women.

Launched by consumer goods manufacturer Unilever and supported by four members of television series Generations, the Pond's Passport to Success campaign will reward four winners with a mentorship prize.

Pond's Passport to Success launches today, Monday 27 August 2007, and runs until mid-September, and invites young ambitious women to take a serious look at their careers. The 10-day mentorship prize will be conducted by Connie Masilo (actress), Natalie Lundon (wardrobe), Constance Mokhoantle (PR) and Wani Nevhutalu (director), all of whom work daily on the fast-paced Generations.

Ethne Whitley, public affairs manager for Unilever and spokesperson of the Pond's Passport to Success campaign, says the nationwide search is expected to draw thousands of entrants from aspiring actresses, directors, public relations and wardrobe enthusiasts. “We're looking for four young women who are confident, self-assured and ambitious, who we can assist in the best way possible, by offering them a mentor in their chosen field for 10 days of one-on-one attention.

“The winners will have the opportunity to see their mentors in action, and to see exactly what goes on within the different departments of a television series. At the same time they'll be able to ask questions, resulting in advice and input from some of the country's most successful women.”

Entries for the Pond's Passport to Success competition close on 14 September, and competition details are available on Pond's packaging.
