Support Winter Warmer Corporate Challenge

As winter sets in to its broadcast area, Jacaranda FM has begun its appeal to collect blankets and funds for the thousands of people who do not have blankets for winter. Its target is to break last year's collection of R3.2 million worth of blankets and cash from listeners, schools and companies across Gauteng, Mpumalanga, North West and Limpopo.

Winter Warmer concerts

The station has again lined up two top-class sets of music artists for the annual Winter Warmer concerts. This year's concerts will be taking place at Menlyn Park Shopping Centre on Saturday 19 May and East Rand Mall on Saturday 26 May 2012.

For an entry fee of only one new blanket, concertgoers will be treated to Robbie Wessels, Charlize Berg, Lloyd Cele, Heinz Winkler and Jay at Menlyn Park. Those wanting to attend the East Rand Mall concert will enjoy Riana Nel, Snotkop, Elvis Blue and Theuns Jordaan. In addition, some of the Jacaranda FM jocks will also be there.

Schools vie for prize

The School challenge has reportedly seen some good support since its inception, with thousands of learners finding original and exciting ways of collecting blankets and displaying their collection. This year the station has prizes including R5000 in cash and performances by Lloyd Cele or Karlien van Jaarsveld live for the schools that collect the most blankets.

The Winter Warmer Corporate Challenge, a telethon to raise funds and collect blankets, will be taking place on 30 May 2012.
