Another specialist mag from SARIE

Building on its niche readership, SARIE will launch its male edition of SARIE KOS, 'SARIE KOS vir mans', as a stand alone magazine today, 26 May 2010. It is aimed at South African men who believe they are hot in the kitchen and master of the braai, but who acknowledge that they can do with "a little help".

The reader is an outdoorsy kind of guy and an avid sport enthusiast, but also loves to catch up with Jamie Oliver and Nigella Lawson.

This edition follows the same format as SARIE KOS with four clear sub sections: sy kos, manne-kos, huiskos and buite-kos. Food articles, recipes for family and friends (each illustrated with a photo), a column and many handy hints and innovations make each section inspiring.

SARIE's editor, Michélle van Breda, says that this magazine is dedicated to the 31% male readership that does not have any reservations about demonstrating their skill and creativity in the kitchen. "When our food magazine featured recipe competitions last year, three of the five winners were men, bearing further testament to the fact that this magazine was inevitable. The men have convinced us to take on this project and judging from their mouth-watering contributions, the traditional roles have been reversed! Female readers will equally enjoy this publication," concludes van Breda.

The magazine will be available nationwide from 26 May 2010 for R32.95.
