Films feature at Expo

The Design Indaba Expo is offering a host of local movies this weekend at the Cape Town International Convention Centre, free to visitors attending the expo. The films are supplied and curated by the Cape Town World Cinema Festival.

The features on the opening Friday night are Wah-Wah, written and directed by Richard E. Grant, and Boy Called Twist, written and directed by Tim Greene.

Faith's Corner, directed by Darrell Roodt stars Leleti Khumalo in a stylistically
courageous and poignant film.

Day two of the festival stars one feature - Yasmin by Kenneth Glenoun - and three documentaries: Let's hit the streets (Michael Raeburn); Liberia: A fragile peace (Steven Ross); and For better or for worse (Hanli Prinsloo).

There are also several shorts - African Middle Weight (Daniel Cattier); Killer October (Gareth Meyer); Beyond Freedom (Jacquie Trowell); Riding with Sugar (Sunu Gonera); What goes around comes around (Thabo Mvumvu) and The one that fits inside a bathtub (Inger Smith).
