General Worker

We are looking for a general worker to join our Facilities team. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining a clean, hygienic, and orderly environment across our office and shared workspaces. This position requires someone who is reliable, detail-oriented, and committed to maintaining professional standards of cleanliness and hygiene in a fast-paced media environment.

Key duties and responsibilities 

Office and workspace cleaning

• Clean and sanitise offices, boardrooms, and reception areas.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and polish floors.
• Dust and wipe down desks, furniture, and electronic equipment.
• Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors.
• Disinfect high-touch surfaces (e.g., door handles, switches).

Restroom and kitchen hygiene

• Clean and restock restrooms and kitchen areas.
• Sanitise sinks, toilets, appliances, and shared equipment.
• Conduct weekly deep cleaning of fridges, microwaves, and coffee machines.

Waste management

• Empty bins regularly and ensure proper waste segregation.
• Report any waste-related issues or pest concerns.

Health and safety compliance

• Use cleaning chemicals safely and wear appropriate protective gear.
• Report hazards and maintenance issues promptly.

Inventory and equipment care

• Monitor cleaning supplies and notify management for restocking.
• Keep cleaning equipment in good condition and safely stored.

Professional conduct

• Maintain a professional appearance and follow uniform standards.
• Respect confidentiality in office spaces and work quietly during sensitive activities (e.g.,     meetings, recordings).

Minimum qualifications, experience and skills required: 

• Grade 12 (or equivalent).
• 1–2 years of cleaning or general work experience, preferably in an office or media environment.
• Familiarity with commercial cleaning equipment is an advantage.
• Knowledge of safe cleaning practices and chemical handling.
• Ability to operate cleaning tools and follow hygiene protocols.
• Physically fit and capable of lifting light equipment.
• Attention to detail, time management, and reliability.
• Trustworthy, discreet, and able to work independently.
