Job description
About the roleReporting to the General Manager, this is a strategic leadership role overseeing end-to-end garment production. We are looking for a forward-thinking Industrial Engineer who brings a blend of technical expertise and people-centred leadership to drive operational excellence in a lean manufacturing environment.
Key responsibilities
- Lead production across fabrics, elastics, cutting, and sewing with a strong focus on efficiency, throughput, and first-time-right quality
- Implement and manage Lean systems (Kanban, Just-in-Time, Make-to-Order, Make-to-Stock)
- Drive operational excellence through SHE standards, 5S practices, and visual management using real-time metrics
- Ensure quality assurance aligned with Jockey standards and customer expectations
- Monitor and continuously improve efficiency, cost recovery, and order fulfilment
- Collaborate with planning and administration teams to maintain seamless workflow
- Maintain updated production SOPs and documentation
- Coach and develop teams, building autonomy, accountability, and problem-solving capability
- Foster a culture of initiative, trust, and shared leadership
What we’re looking for
- Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering (or equivalent)
- Minimum 8 years’ experience in clothing/garment manufacturing
- Strong expertise in garment assembly, fabric properties, line balancing, and continuous improvement
- Hands-on experience with lean tools and workflow design
- Proven ability to lead with clarity, consistency, and a coaching mindset
- Experience in autonomous or self-managed production environments

- Strategic thinker with a growth mindset and strong execution skills
- Natural leader with the ability to balance big-picture strategy and operational detail
- Comfortable leading through empowerment rather than control
- Energised by results, recognition, and developing thriving teams
- Likely an ENTJ/ESTJ (Myers-Briggs) or Enneagram 3, 6, or 7
