    Job description

    Are you a digitally savvy storyteller with a passion for engaging content and vibrant online communities? VoltAfrica is on the lookout for a Social Media Coordinator to join our dynamic communications team. This role is central to building and amplifying our brand presence online, requiring a blend of storytelling, content creation and community engagement to bring our brand to life across multiple platforms.     Responsibilities:

    The social media coordinator will be responsible for managing and growing VoltAfrica’s digital presence, including but not limited to:
    • Content planning and scheduling: Planning, creating and scheduling engaging content across Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, X (Twitter) and TikTok.
    • Copywriting and storytelling: Crafting compelling captions and generating creative content ideas aligned with brand voice and objectives.
    • Content creation: Producing basic visual content including graphics, reels and short-form videos using tools such as Canva, CapCut, Adobe Express or InShot.
    • Calendar management: Maintaining content calendars and ensuring consistent and strategic posting using platforms such as Meta Business Suite.
    • Community engagement: Managing audience interactions by responding to comments, messages and mentions in a timely and professional manner.
    • Performance tracking: Monitoring social media performance metrics and assisting in compiling monthly analytics reports.
    • Campaign collaboration: Working closely with designers and the broader brand team on campaigns, launches and community-building initiatives.
    • Trend monitoring: Staying up to date with social media trends and insights to continuously improve content relevance and audience growth.

    Minimum requirements
    • Qualifications: Degree in marketing, communications or a related field.
    • Experience: 3–5 years of experience in social media management or a similar role.
    • Technical skills: Proficiency in social media platforms, content scheduling tools and basic design and video editing software.
    • Creative ability: Strong visual and creative skills with the ability to produce engaging multimedia content.
    • Attributes: Detail-oriented, proactive and adaptable with a strong passion for digital storytelling.

    • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong sense of tone and audience.
    • Creativity: Ability to generate innovative ideas and translate them into engaging content.
    • Organisational skills: Strong time management skills with the ability to manage multiple platforms and deadlines simultaneously.

    • Adaptability: Willingness to learn, evolve and stay ahead of digital and social media trends.
