Head of Department: Operations

Job description

We are seeking a Senior Head of Operations to lead and integrate the organisation’s Operations function, encompassing Facilities, Office Management, IT Operations Support, and Organisational Operations Support. This role serves as a key strategic partner and right hand to the COO, playing a pivotal role in translating strategy into execution, driving operational excellence, and ensuring strong cross-departmental alignment and disciplined delivery across the organisation.


Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Translate organisational and ExCo strategy into actionable operational plans and milestones
• Lead and integrate Facilities, Office, IT, and Operations Support functions
• Maintain and execute the Integrated Workstream Roadmap, managing dependencies and delivery
• Drive cross-functional alignment, coordination, and follow-through
• Ensure operational readiness for campaigns, launches, and strategic initiatives
• Oversee facilities, office operations, IT support, and fixed asset management
• Support governance, compliance, audits, and risk mitigation
• Represent Operations in ManCo, supporting reporting, action tracking, and execution discipline
• Manage operational budgets, vendors, and cost efficiency

Minimum Qualifications and Experience Required: 

• Degree or diploma in Operations Management, Business Administration, Facilities Management, IT Systems, or a related field
• 5–8 years’ experience in operations, facilities, office, or IT operational management
• Proven experience coordinating teams, vendors, and cross-functional workflows

 Advantageous:

• Experience supporting executive-level operational delivery
• Exposure to governance, OHS, SHERQ, or compliance environments
• Experience in media, production, or fast-paced organisational settings
• Familiarity with Microsoft 365, cloud systems, and workflow platforms (e.g. Asana)
