The Gordon Institute of Business Science (Gibs), in partnership with Daily Maverick, is proud to announce the launch of the Executive Programme in Media Leadership: Strengthening Media Leaders in Africa, designed to equip the next generation of media leaders with the skills needed to steer the sector into a sustainable future.
To mark the launch of the programme, Daily Maverick will host a virtual conversation, hosted by Saskia Falken and featuring Styli Charalambous, CEO of Daily Maverick, and Michael Markovitz, head of the Gibs Media Leadership Think Tank.
The Future of Media in Africa: Leadership for Sustainability and Impact
Join the discussion as they unpack the fragile state of media in South Africa and globally, the implications for democracy and public trust, and why leadership, innovation and strategic execution are key to turning things around.
The session will also introduce the Executive Programme in Media Leadership as a bold response to these challenges. Join the launch to find out more about the course, tailored for rising and established media professionals, rooted in Gibs’s rigorous academic foundation and supported by real-world insight from media practitioners, thinkers and business leaders.
Limited tuition assistance is available for the course through partial scholarship funding. Interested individuals can apply via their admission application to the programme on the Gibs website. Please indicate in your motivation letter if you have a need to be considered for this partial scholarship opportunity.
