The New Age launches with heritage edition
The first edition of the new newspaper, The New Age, was launched on Thursday, 23 September 2010, as a Heritage Day Special with a reported print run of 235 000 copies. Managing editor Gary Naidoo said, "The first special edition met our objectives and achieved a 40% advertising ratio for this edition." For those who missed it, read the digital version online. Meanwhile, according to the Sowetan, the newspaper's publisher Atul Gupta was arrested over the weekend and was scheduled to appear before the Randburg magistrate's court this morning, to be charged with obstructing justice.
