Elections 2009 - it all happens here

The Independent Electoral Commission's Results Operation Centre will be operational until the final results of the 2009 national and provincial elections have been announced. Hall J at the Tshwane Events Centre has been transformed into a world-class technology centre. A total of 450 computer workstations, 300 telephone units, 22km of data, fibre and telephone cabling, more than 1000 electricity power points and more than 200 high-powered lights and 2km of network cabling have been installed. A total of 122 offices have been built to accommodate five television and seven radio studios for live broadcasting from the centre, several media representatives, including radio stations, TV broadcasters and newspaper organisations, as well as the 26 political parties contesting the national elections.
