Call for Emmy judge nominations from Cape Film Commission

It is calling for nominations for judges from members of the CFC who have experience in the production of movies and mini-series in various capacities.

Travel overseas

Nominations must be in by 14 March 2014 and nominated persons must be able to travel to New York on the weekend of the international gala and world TV festival in New York in late November and comply with the DTI SSAS criteria. The judging will take place in July 2014 and judges will meet final approval through the International Emmy judge selection process.

This year the CFC has been chosen to host one of the most prestigious categories, unfortunately due to confidentiality, it is not allowed to name the category until judging has taken place.

Last year, it successfully hosted two categories, which were attended by the president of the International Emmy Awards, Bruce Paisner. This resulted in the CFC judges travelling to New York City in November 2013, with the support of the DTI, to attend the gala awards and the World Television Festival.

Partnering with DTI

The South African industry was also represented at the 2013 awards with local content from MasterChef South Africa and Late Nite News with Loyiso Gola.

This year, it will again be partnering with the DTI, as it plans to arrange a delegation of its judges to attend the gala dinner, normally the last weekend in November.
