Six pinks shortlisted for inaugural Pinotage Rosé Competition

Six particularly appealing 'pinks' have been shortlisted in the inaugural Pinotage Rosé Competition. The competition is being introduced by the Pinotage Association to benchmark and award exceptional wines over and above the single-varietal Pinotages and Cape Blends for which South Africa is famous.

Rosé is an exciting wine style with huge appeal, says Beyers Truter, chair of the Pinotage Association.

Producers see great potential in the further growth of this category and are sure that the new competition will be even more fiercely contested in years to come.

The winning wineries will receive their awards on 4 October at a presentation to be held at the Overture Restaurant of Hidden Valley Wines in the Helderberg, Stellenbosch.
