Learn to sell wine

The UCT Graduate School of Business (GSB) is running an innovative short course on wine marketing and global competitiveness in September. The course will be presented by Dr Johan Bruwer from the University of Adelaide in Australia, a senior lecturer in Wine Business Management and an internationally awarded market researcher and author in the wine industry.

According to Elaine Rumboll, Director of Executive Education at the UCT GSB, the focus of the course will be on wine brand identity, world export markets, wine consumer behaviour and consumption trends, and wine tourism - all critical success factors for South Africa's emerging wine industry.

"This is a comprehensive short-course that will help the local wine community to enhance their wine marketing skills and build on the success that South African wines have had, both on the international scene and at home with wine tourism.

"As South Africa becomes a more significant player on the global stage, local businesses have to ensure they are skilled to operate in this environment."

Bruwer is convenor of the Wine Business Group at the University of Adelaide and he has 17 years' academic teaching experience at university schools.

The course will run at the UCT GSB Breakwater Campus in Cape Town from 28 - 29 September. Contact +27-21-406-1346 or for details.
