So far, the piece designed by Shani van Eck from Tshwane University of Technology was auctioned off at the Johannesburg Décor & Design Mornings event in aid of Joburg Child Welfare and the piece designed by Chrisanne Louw from the Cape Peninsula University of Technology, was auctioned off during the Cape Town event, in aid of Kibwe Kids. The pieces have brought in over R4000 for the charities.
The Décor & Design Mornings were held in association with Plascon, The Home Channel and Edith Venter of Edith Unlimited. In association with the Jewellery Council of South Africa (JCSA), the remainder of the pieces are to be auctioned off later this year and proceeds will go to the Jewellery Council Chairman's Fund to assist previously disadvantaged students and jewellers around the country.
