The redeveloped Morningside Shopping Centre on the corner of Rivonia and Outspan Roads in Morningside is now open with nearly all its retailers selecting secured wireless communications to process debit and credit card transactions to trade. “XLink modems connect retailers to banks for fund clearance using the major cellphone networks instead of shop owners having to wait for land-line installations to process card-based purchases,” explained Carl Larsen, national sales manager of local Sandton company, XLink Communications and Morningside resident, whose company pioneered wireless-based communications in South Africa.
