This follows the receipt of a list of all political parties and independent candidates contesting the National and Provincial Elections from the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) ahead of the National and Provincial election on 29 May 2024.

The receipt of the list paves the way for the allocation of PEB slots by Icasa to contest political parties and independent candidates under the prevailing regulations.

Members of the media and interested stakeholders are invited to the allocation of PEB slots as follows:

Date: 18 April 2024
Time: 08h30
Venue: Gallagher Convention Centre

Acting chairperson, Councillor Cathrine Mushi, emphasised the significance of allocating these PEB slots, stating that "the allocation of these PEB slots serves as a cornerstone in ensuring fairness and inclusivity, providing each political party and independent candidates with an opportunity to voice their message across broadcasting platforms.

"This process is democratising access to the airwaves, amplifying diverse voices, and empowering voters with a breadth of perspectives to make informed choices.”
