The Big Debate

The eNews Channel launches a new political debate show this week entitled "The Big Debate". In a unique "Town Hall Meeting" format, the eNews Channel will be travelling across South Africa, to talk about corruption, leadership, black economic empowerment, media freedom, service delivery and other hot topics.
The Big Debate

Should cartoonists be able to mock our politicians? Should South Africa have done more to pressure Mugabe? Do we have leaders that inspire us like Obama? These are some of the questions we'll be asking as we travel around the country.

"The Big Debate" format is refreshing in that the discussion takes place in a circular shape. The panellists remain on the stage throughout the show. This will give our audiences direct access to politicians and other decision makers - expect some fiery exchanges.

Of course we will do our best to move from healthy arguments to practical solutions in the course of each show.

Episode 1 of the "The Big Debate" airs on the eNews Channel at 9pm this Wednesday. We bring together ZANU-PF and the MDC, along with Zimbabwean refugees and South Africans from all walks of life to talk about the Zimbabwe deal.

"The Big Debate" is produced with support from Open Society Foundation South Africa, The Ford Foundation and Atlantic Philanthropies.
