Job descriptionRole Overview
The Creative Lead oversees all creative projects and team members within the department and is responsible for maintaining the overall quality of work produced. This role manages creative projects from concept through to completion and translates marketing objectives into effective and innovative creative strategies.
The role focuses on building meaningful connections between brands and their audiences by moving beyond superficial advertising and creating experiences that resonate on a deeper level.

The Creative Lead will proactively identify opportunities for brands, with the goal of producing award-winning work that enhances both the client’s brand profile and the agency’s reputation.
Key Responsibilities
Creative Excellence

Drive the overall quality of the creative product while ensuring alignment with client objectives.

Establish and maintain a culture where creativity and powerful advertising work together to deliver high-quality results.

Strive to meet Creative Circle targets as defined annually.

Support and promote the Avatar through-the-line approach across all creative work.

Ensure the quality of creative output is consistently maintained and improved under your leadership.

Present well-developed, fully considered creative solutions rather than multiple unfinished options, including detailed thinking, budgets, and timelines.

Produce impactful campaigns, including TV advertising, that perform strongly across emerging and developed markets.

Develop and drive an awards strategy that encourages proactive, high-quality creative work.

Build strong relationships with clients and earn their trust and respect.

Work collaboratively with strategy and media teams during reviews and client presentations.

Ensure briefs are clearly understood by confirming the purpose and deliverables before developing creative work.

Promote a culture within the creative department focused on solutions rather than problems.

Develop integrated creative solutions rather than one-off executions.
Talent Management

Lead, mentor, and develop direct reports within the creative team.

Contribute to a positive agency culture through innovation, knowledge sharing, mentorship, and guidance.

Requirements Qualifications & Experience

Matric certificate.
-
Diploma or Degree in a related field.

Strong background in art direction or copywriting with a well-developed eye for design.

Minimum of 10+ years of industry experience.

At least 5+ years of leadership experience.

Proven communication and project management skills.
Technical Knowledge
Working knowledge of:

Graphic design and/or illustration

Audio production and editing

Video capture, editing, and video effects production

3D design and animation

Web and interactive design

User interface best practices, including image optimization and site mapping
