Mid-Senior Estimator (Print/Packaging)

A well-established Print and Packaging manufacturer based in Cape Town is seeking an experienced Mid–Senior Estimator to join their commercial team. This role is key to delivering accurate, competitive, and profitable cost estimates for folding carton products, supporting both sales and operational performance.
Key responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for folding carton jobs, including board, printing, die-cutting, gluing, windowing and special finishes
  

• Calculate machine run rates, make-ready times, waste allowances and labour costs
  

• Interpret customer briefs, artworks, CAD designs and specifications
  

• Identify production risks and propose cost-effective, value-engineered solutions
  

• Collaborate closely with Sales, Planning, Production and Procurement teams
  

• Maintain accurate costing data and support post-job costing reviews
  

Requirements:

• 5–10 years’ experience in estimating within folding cartons / packaging / print
  

• Strong technical understanding of carton manufacturing processes
  

• High level of numerical accuracy and attention to detail
  

• Commercially astute with strong communication skills
  

• Proficient in estimating systems, ERP platforms (Dolphin) and Excel
