Team Lead – Full Stack JavaScript Engineer

Currently looking for a Full Stack JavaScript Engineer with strong leadership skills to take the helm of a growing team. If you're a hands-on developer who thrives on guiding others, architecting scalable systems, and driving technical excellence, this is your opportunity to make a real impact.

Requirements:

• Six-plus years of professional full-stack development experience
• Strong expertise in JavaScript/TypeScript, Angular, and Node.js
• Experience building scalable backend systems and distributed architectures
• Familiarity with AWS or similar cloud platforms
• Mobile app experience with Ionic/Cordova or native frameworks
• Proven experience leading or mentoring development teams
• Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent practical experience
• Frontend: Angular (v17+), Ionic/Cordova, HTML5, CSS3, TypeScript
• Backend: Node.js, Redis, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Golang (a plus)
• Infrastructure: AWS (EKS, EC2, IAM, S3), Kubernetes, Terraform, Linux
• Messaging and architecture: RabbitMQ, distributed systems
• DevOps and monitoring: CI/CD pipelines, OpenSearch
• AI/ML (Bonus): OpenAI APIs, LangChain, vector databases, prompt engineering, RAG

Responsibilities:

• Architect, develop, and maintain full-stack applications (web, backend, mobile)
• Lead a small engineering team with mentoring, code reviews, and technical guidance 2
• Collaborate with product managers and founders on feature planning and architecture
• Drive high standards in code quality, testing, and CI/CD
• Oversee cloud infrastructure and ensure production reliability and performance
• Translate business needs into scalable, user-friendly solutions
• Assist in hiring, onboarding, and team growth
• Continuously improve processes, codebases, and engineering culture
• Contribute to incident response and production support as needed
