“KwataDeal.com is here to bring you the best deals on the web. It is here to help all those who would have anything to sell or buy. They can now do it online at absolutely no cost,” said Chris Kamoga, the Ugandan behind the initiative at www.kwatadeal.com.

The new site also offers an alternative from the recently launched Google SMS service which was unveiled by mobile phone company MTN Uganda, Google and the Grameen Foundation. While the Google SMS has been free during its launch phase, some of its services have already become commercial.

The new website has market categories including: Events, Jobs, Lost Items, Services, Items for Sale including Cars, and Computers, Lonely Hearts, and Real Estate.

While the primary objective of the website is link buyers and sellers, Kamoga said the site is also designed to help Ugandan business grow whether they are online or not.
