Air Mauritius re-introduces festive flights for Durban market

After declaring the closing of the Durban route, as of 28 October 2012; Air Mauritius (MK) has announced that the national carrier will re-introduce flights to the KwaZulu-Natal market, for the festive season spanning: 21 December 2012 - 13 January 2013.

Says Carla da Silva, Air Mauritius regional manager Southern Africa and Latin America, "Air Mauritius is delighted to be able to meet the demands of our venerated stakeholders within the Durban market, by offering these limited festive flights on-board our A319 aircraft."

On a national and international scale, Air Mauritius will continue to provide the following services to Johannesburg, Cape Town and beyond:

  • 10 X Weekly Johannesburg flights:

    • From 28 October, 2012, Air Mauritius will operate 10 X weekly flights out of Johannesburg, and additional supplementary capacity during peak holiday season

  • Increased frequencies direct from Cape Town to Mauritius:

    • From 28 October, 2012, Cape Town flights' capacity will also be simultaneous boosted with three flights direct to Mauritius, return, per week

  • Network connectivity:

    • Furthermore, and also effective as of 28 October, 2012, Air Mauritius will offer network connectivity within six hours to all destinations, beyond Mauritius

    • These include highly competitive rates offered via international routes inclusive of: Australia, Malaysia; Singapore; London; Paris, India; China, Reunion, Kenya, Madagascar and more
