Last week, the lawyers representing the miners filed an urgent application in the North Gauteng High Court to compel government to pay the lawyers representing the miners.

The Presidency, the Justice Department and the Legal Aid Board are opposing the application. A judgment on whether they will recive the funding will be made on Thursday.
