SACOB now provides student advisors to make choices

As kids we dream of being astronauts, acrobats or aviators. In our teenage years our lofty ideals grow, now we aspire to be doctors, scientists or movie stars. Even as adults we sometimes struggle to find our "career north". While heading confidently in one direction, we might find ourselves distracted by an infinitely more interesting path and veer off course. Life happens.
SACOB now provides student advisors to make choices

On the one hand, change is a wonderful part of growing up, yet on the other it makes a seemingly straightforward task, such as choosing your Grade 10 subjects, a daunting prospect. Fortunately, learners no longer have to feel as if they're being forced to cast their career path in stone at an age when a day can seem like a lifetime and a week an eternity.

The South African College of Business (SACOB) has aimed its latest online infographic specifically at learners still in high school and it outlines the various choices the learner has with regards to furthering their education.

Perhaps more importantly, it reassures them that there are no wrong choices. This is especially valuable given the fast-paced dog-eat-dog world that these kids find themselves growing up in nowadays.

Assist learners with subject choices at the end of Grade 9

SACOB's student advisors will assist learners with subject choices at the end of Grade 9, as well as at any other stage of their academic development. SACOB also offers accredited courses that will provide learners with an additional certificate, ensuring they matriculate with a distinct competitive advantage over their peers.

Tertiary education at a university level is not always possible. Space is limited and things like finances and not finishing high school make it prohibitive to many. However, private institutions like SACOB are bridging that gap as they allow one to study further without a matric certificate.

SACOB's blended lecturer-led education model combines classroom, distance and e-learning that results in a high touch learning experience for everyone from students to businesses as well as to the broader community.

Learners have the ability to study both online and offline, in print or digitally, at their own pace and in the comfort of their own homes or offices. While individual circumstances may differ greatly, students all share the same basic need for a learning environment that will best facilitate their particular education requirements.

Courses are also structured in such a way that you can study while having a full- or part-time job. For a lot of students, the ability to earn while they learn is tantamount to their success. Said SACOB principal Stacey Henn: "Our aim with this infographic is twofold; firstly we want learners to know that there is help available when it comes to choosing their Grade 10 subjects and, secondly, that there are no wrong choices. If they decide to follow a different path we'll work with them to figure out the best way forward to achieve their new goal."
