The session was delivered by Lonza Wood Protection as part of a diploma programme.
The diploma in Wood Technology is a three-year full-time course, which covers a spectrum of subjects pertaining to the wood processing industry. Graduates can seek employment ultimately as
sawmill, particle board and timber treatment plant managers, as well as specialists in kiln drying, wet and dry mill management, and furniture and joinery plant managers. The diploma can be converted into a BTech degree with an additional year of full-time study, or two years part-time study.
Programme manager for Wood Technology, Richard Muller, was very complimentary about the training provided by Lonza customer account manager, Asbolom Mngomezulu. "In addition to the informative demonstration provided by Absolom, his expertise and dedication to his work was very impressive. We would like to thank Lonza for the training and Cape Pine for availing their treatment plant at their George operation for this demonstration.
