SA food trends at The Good Food & Wine Show

The Good Food & Wine Show will be held from 21 to 24 May, 2015, at the CTICC in Cape Town. Local and international chefs will be demonstrating new and innovative ways of cooking and introducing the latest, state-of-the-art culinary equipment. The spotlight this year will be on home-grown chefs and South African food trends.

Headlining the local chefs line-up will be Siba Mtongana, host of Food Network's Siba's Table, and perennial favourite Jenny Morris, The Giggling Gourmet, also a host on Food Network and a cookery book author. Visitors will get to see other noteworthy local foodies showcasing their cooking styles and will also see other local chefs who are setting trends in South African cuisine. International celebrity chefs will include TLC's Cake Boss, Buddy Valastro, and Matt Preston, the MasterChef Australia judge. All the celeb chefs will take part in live cooking demonstrations at the Celebrity Chefs Theatre.

The finest wines

Locally produced fare, such as chutneys and cheeses, will be on display at Speciality Street. And, as the city is located in wine country, it's to be expected that the finest wines will be on display. You can be informed about, and taste, which wines pair best with which food at The Art of Wine stand.

In keeping with the demands of the health-conscious Capetonian, this year The Good Food & Wine Show introduces the Health Hub, which is aimed at encouraging food lovers to make healthier food choices. The Well I Am kitchen, situated in the Health Hub, will be run by health and fitness expert Lisa Raleigh, and will include live demonstrations that will inspire healthy cooking and eating.
