Young Lions age limit upped to 30

For this year, 2009, only, the age limit for registration for the Cannes Young Lions has been upped from 28 to 30, it was announced yesterday, Wednesday, 29 April 2009. This will allow young professionals to enjoy the activities of the 56th International Advertising Festival at a discounted rate.

Philip Thomas, Festival CEO comments: "This is a financially difficult year for everybody, therefore, for this year only, we've increased the age limit for the Young Lions registration to create an opportunity for young creatives and young marketers to take advantage and benefit from the outstanding festival programme that we have in place. Cannes Lions is quite simply the finest training opportunity of the year."

Young creatives and young marketers born after 27 June 1978 can benefit from a four-day or full-week registration package at a reduced price allowing them access to the festival activities, which include over 50 seminars and 20 workshops by inspirational speakers, as well as exclusive access to the Young Lions Zone, a programme of 10 master classes by the likes of top creatives Alex Bogusky, Tham Khai Meng, and Bob Greenberg, as well as marketing experts Jonathan Mildenhall (Coca-Coca) and Michael Mendenhall (HP) and an invitation to the Young Lions party on Tuesday 23 June.

The age limit for competing in all the Young Lions competitions remains at 28 years or younger. Registration for the Young Lions Competition is now open. The competition brief will be available on www.cinemark.co.za/young_lions on Friday 8 May and entries close at 9am Monday 11 May.
