STADIO higher education is inviting applications for the position of: Invigilator
PurposeThe invigilator is responsible for maintaining a secure and conducive environment during examinations and other assessment activities. You are responsible for ensuring that the examination process is conducted according to established regulations and guidelines, promoting a fair and transparent environment for all participants. The role involves monitoring the examination venue, enforcing examination procedures, and addressing any irregularities or misconduct.
Key responsibilities- Conducting pre-examination preparations, such as setting up the assessment venue and arranging seating arrangements.
- Verifying the identity of candidates and ensuring that they are seated in their designated places.
- Distributing examination materials and instructions to candidates in a timely and organised manner.
- Enforcing examination rules and regulations to maintain a secure and fair testing environment.
- Monitoring candidates during the examination to prevent cheating or any form of malpractice.
- Reporting any incidents or irregularities to the appropriate authorities for further investigation
- Responding to any queries or concerns raised by candidates during the examination process.
- Handling any technical issues or disruptions that may arise during the examination.
- Collecting and organising examination materials at the conclusion of the assessment.
- Maintaining confidentiality and integrity throughout the examination process.
- Work on Saturdays when required.
Skills and competencies- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organisational and coordination skills with the ability to work under pressure and adhere to deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to cope with change.
- Willingness to work when required on Saturdays.
Qualifications and experience- Grade 12 (matric). A post-matric qualification is preferred and will be advantageous.
- Previous experience in invigilation, administration, or a similar role will be advantageous.
