STADIO is looking to employ a
Module Coordinator & Undergraduate Distance Learning Lecturer: African Languages (Xitsonga) who will be based at the Musgrave Campus DL/ Contact Lecturer African Languages, Foundation Phase, and Intermediate Phase
Key Responsibilities Module coordinator for the following modules:
- THLXTS201 Teaching Home Language Xitsonga
- XTSHLI300Xitsonga Home Language for Intermediate Phase 2
- XTSHLI400Xitsonga Home Language for Intermediate Phase 3
- LCXTS152 Language Conversational Xitsonga
- XTSHL100Xitsonga Home Language 1
- XTSHLF100Xitsonga Home Language Foundation Phase Language 2
- XTSLI201 Literacy Xitsonga Home Language 1
- XTSLI201 Literacy Xitsonga Home Language 2
- Lecture and assess distance learning students in the Bachelor of Education Foundation Phase modules:
- XTSLI201 Literacy Xitsonga Home Language S1a
- XTSLI201 Literacy Xitsonga Home Language S1b
- Perform the role and responsibilities of the module coordinator (MC).
- Compile teaching, learning, and assessment materials.
- Use a learning management system independently and/or work collaboratively to develop and deliver modules.
- Participate in relevant programme, curriculum and material development.
- Carry out allocated internal moderation responsibilities.
- Participate in school-based Teaching Practice assessments.
- Provide academic support to students.
- Complete all Quality Assurance requirements related to the modules and programmes.
- Participate in research and community engagement projects.
- Ensure prompt and effective communication with students, colleagues, line managers, and other members of management.
- Ensure administrative efficiency, effectiveness and compliance with all policies and SOPs.
- Participate in and attend meetings and workshops.
- Fulfil functions on relevant committees, and in meetings and workshops as reasonably requested by management.
- Fulfil all reasonably expected administrative functions relating to the position and as requested by the relevant line manager.
Minimum Requirements:At least 3 years teaching and/or lecturing experience in Xitsonga at Home and First Additional Language level in Foundation Phase and Intermediate phase.
Experience in curriculum and materials development.
Experience in online and blended teaching and learning environments.
Qualifications and ExperienceBachelor of Education Minimum Honours or equivalent qualification with relevant study in Xitsonga

Strong organisational and coordination skills with the ability to work under pressure and adhere to deadlines.
High level of computer proficiency with good knowledge of modern Information Technology infrastructure and online learning platforms.

Ability to cope with change.
Willingness to work when required on Saturdays.
