Job description
The Factory Supervisor / Quality Control Manager will oversee daily factory operations, ensuring high-quality production, proper stock control, and efficient staff management. This role is hands-on and requires strong attention to detail, leadership, and communication to ensure products are manufactured, packaged, and dispatched according to company standards.
Key responsibilities include:
Supervise daily factory operations and production staff.
Ensure all furniture meets quality standards before dispatch, testing of furniture and checking with a fine attention to detail is non-negotiable.
Inspect products for workmanship, durability, finishing, and packaging quality.
Manage and enforce proper packaging standards to prevent damage during transport.
Conduct regular stock takes and maintain accurate stock records.
Control and monitor raw materials and finished goods stock levels.
Receive incoming stock and goods and verify quantities and quality.
Report stock shortages, damages, or discrepancies to management.
Train staff on quality standards, packaging procedures, and production methods.
Monitor staff performance and attendance.
Maintain clear communication between factory staff, management, and dispatch teams.
Identify production or quality issues and implement corrective actions.
Ensure factory cleanliness, organisation, and safety standards.
Prepare daily or weekly reports on production, quality, and stock status.
Assist with improving production efficiency and reducing waste.
Requirements
Experience in factory supervision, stock control, or quality control (furniture or manufacturing preferred).
Strong attention to detail and commitment to high quality standards.
Good leadership and staff management skills.
Ability to work hands-on in a factory environment.
Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
Stock control and stock take experience.
Problem-solving and decision-making ability.
Organised, reliable, and disciplined.
Basic computer skills (Excel, WhatsApp, reporting).
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Honest, trustworthy, and responsible.
