Debtors Clerk/ Credit Controller

The company is looking for a strong individual with good attention to detail, who is able to be firm with clients in obtaining outstanding debts. A basic understanding of accounting is required. Experience in debt collection is essential, in particular debt collection within Government institutions. Healthcare experience would be an added bonus.
The individual needs to meet and develop relationships with clients.

Job summary

• Managing the accounts receivable book, reducing the outstanding debt
• Allocating payments received to the correct accounts, chasing unidentified deposits
• Feedback to management on problematic clients
• Ensuring the debtors module balances to the debtors control account in the general ledger
• Maintaining the debtors masterfile, ensuring all credit applications are up to date
• Accurately allocate any COD receipts to the respective accounts

• Clean debtors accounts
• Accurate allocation of receipts
• Accurate forecast of collections for cashflow purposes
• Balance the debtors module to the general ledger on a monthly basis

• Reporting bad paying clients to management

 Training identified

• Basic accounting principles
• MS Office and in particular Outlook/Excel/Word enhancement
• Xero is an added benefit
