The Sales and Sponsorship Manager is responsible for driving revenue generation and building long-term partnerships to support the organisation’s mission. This role will focus on securing sponsorships, cultivating donor and partner relationships, and developing innovative sales strategies to maximise funding opportunities for programmes, events, and initiatives. 

This role requires a dynamic individual who can confidently identify brand alignment opportunities, build relationships and craft compelling sponsorship proposals that deliver clear value for both the event and for Ladles of Love. 

Key Responsibilities

Sponsorship and Partnership Development 
  • Identify, approach, and secure sponsorship opportunities with corporates, foundations and other stakeholders. 
  • Develop customised sponsorship proposals and packages aligned with the organisation’s objectives and sponsors’ needs.
  • Manage relationships with sponsors and partners to ensure satisfaction, recognition, and renewal. 
Sales and Fundraising  
  • Develop and implement sales strategies to meet revenue targets. 
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of potential sponsors, partners, and donors. 
  • Actively promote and sell advertising, sponsorships, and partnership opportunities for events, campaigns, and projects. 
  • Negotiate terms of agreements and ensure contractual obligations are fulfilled. 
Relationship Management 
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including sponsors, donors, corporates, and media partners. 
  • Act as the primary point of contact for sponsors, providing regular updates and ensuring value delivery. 
  • Engage with internal teams to align sponsorship activities with organisational goals.
Strategy and Reporting
  • Contribute to the development of the organisation’s overall fundraising and business development strategy.
  • Conduct market research to identify new opportunities and trends in sponsorship and fundraising. 
  • Monitor, evaluate, and report on sales and sponsorship performance against agreed targets. 
  • Maintain accurate records of sponsorship agreements, sales activities, and donor information. 
Skills and Competencies 
  • Strong sales, negotiation, and business development skills. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders. 
  • Strategic thinker with problem-solving ability. 
  • Organised, proactive, and results driven. 
  • Knowledge of fundraising and sponsorship best practices (experience in NPO sector an advantage). 
  • Strong presentation and proposal writing skills. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, Communications, Fundraising, or related field (or equivalent experience). 
  • Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in sales, sponsorship, fundraising, or business development (preferably in the NPO or events sector). 
  • Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales/revenue targets. 
  • Familiarity with CRM systems and fundraising tools (advantageous). 
Qualifications and Experience 
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, Communications, Fundraising, or related field (or equivalent experience). 
  • Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in sales, sponsorship, fundraising, or business development (preferably in the NPO or events sector). 
  • Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales/revenue targets. 
  • Familiarity with CRM systems and fundraising tools (advantageous). 
Salary: R25,000 per month 
Performance target bonus scheme (post successful completion of the 3-month probationary period)
