Wikipedia Specialist
About the role:We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented
Wikipedia specialist to join our content and reputation team. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of Wikipedia’s guidelines, a proven track record of editing or creating Wikipedia articles, and an understanding of digital reputation management. This role involves contributing to the accuracy, neutrality, and credibility of articles related to our group companies, leadership, and public-facing initiatives—ensuring alignment with Wikipedia’s standards.
Key responsibilities:- Research, write, and edit Wikipedia articles about companies, executives, and strategic initiatives in line with Wikipedia's notability and neutrality standards.
- Monitor changes and updates to relevant Wikipedia pages and proactively manage reputation risk.
- Collaborate with internal communications and legal teams to verify source materials and citations.
- Maintain strict compliance with Wikipedia’s conflict-of-interest (COI) and credibility policies.
- Source and format high-quality third-party citations from reliable publications.
- Suggest edits via Talk Pages where direct editing may be restricted due to COI guidelines.
- Track and report on Wikipedia performance, visibility, and flag any emerging risks or inaccuracies.
Requirements:- Proven experience editing or creating Wikipedia content (links to previous contributions required).
- Deep knowledge of Wikipedia’s editorial standards, policies, and community protocols.
- Strong research and writing skills with the ability to synthesise complex topics into objective summaries.
- Familiarity with SEO, online reputation, and corporate communications is advantageous.
- Comfortable working with legal and communications teams on high-visibility subjects.
- Ability to manage multiple pages and projects simultaneously with discretion and professionalism.
Ideal candidate:- Experience in corporate reputation, PR, digital strategy, or journalism a plus.
- A professional, objective writing style with a passion for knowledge and accuracy.
- Able to work independently and maintain transparency in accordance with Wikipedia’s terms of use.
