RMS Titanic Centenary Dinner presented by 567 CapeTalk

On Saturday, 14 April 2012, 567 CapeTalk partnered with the Mount Nelson Hotel and event organisers, Spill, to host an evening reminiscent of the last dinner aboard the RMS Titanic.

Chef, Rudi Liebenberg treated guests to an eight course meal, based on the one served aboard the Titanic. It included a silver service of a roast leg of lamb, roast duck or a sirloin of beef and ended off with a dessert tray. A theatrical tableau was enacted by CapeTalk presenter and renowned actor, John Maytham, which brought to life the events of that glorious but tragic evening.

All the guests were elegantly dressed in keeping with the period and blended perfectly into the Edwardian feel of the Mount Nelson's Green Room, which was decorated with silverware and candelabras. A classical string quartet brought a wonderful ambiance to the occasion.

The proceeds generated by the dinner went towards the NSRI to ensure that they are able to continue in saving lives in our oceans.
