Group Director: Media and Advertising Sales
Job descriptionRole PurposeTo lead, grow, and scale the group’s media and advertising operations, with a focus on digital inventory sales, programmatic media, and integrated media solutions. The Group Director is accountable for overall commercial performance, strategic partnerships, operational excellence, and positioning the business as a leading player in the digital and retail media ecosystem. Key Responsibilities 1. Strategic Leadership Define and execute the group’s growth strategy across digital, programmatic, retail media, and DOOH channels Identify and unlock new revenue streams including data monetisation, DSP expansion, and strategic media partnerships Position the group competitively within the evolving media and ad-tech landscape Lead expansion into new markets (regional/African where applicable) Align multiple business units and platforms under a cohesive growth strategy 2. Revenue and Commercial Growth Own and deliver group revenue and profitability targets Drive direct and agency sales across: Programmatic media (DSP, PMP deals) Digital screens (DOOH, retail media, in-store networks) Connected TV (CTV) Build and maintain senior relationships with: Media agencies (e.g. Publicis, GroupM, Dentsu) Blue-chip clients (e.g. banking, telco, FMCG) Lead high-value deal structuring, partnerships, and long-term commercial agreements 3. Operational Leadership Oversee operations across all business units including: Sales Campaign management Client service Reporting and analytics Implement scalable systems, processes, and governance frameworks Ensure operational efficiency, campaign delivery excellence, and client satisfaction across the group 4. Team Leadership and Culture Lead and inspire cross-functional and multi-entity teams Build a high-performance, accountable, and entrepreneurial culture Attract, develop, and retain senior leadership and top talent Establish clear KPIs and performance management frameworks across teams 5. Financial Management Full group P&L accountability Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning Ensure strong cash flow management and working capital efficiency Lead funding strategies, investment decisions, and capital allocation across the group 6.
