Curriculum Developer (BEd Foundation Phase)
Key Responsibilities • Develop learner guides, course guides, lecture notes and assessment tools for BEd Foundation Phase modules. • Ensure alignment with CHE, DHET and SACE accreditation standards, as well as NQF level descriptors. • Integrate Project-Based Learning (PBL) and blended learning methodologies across modules. • Design tools to support Work Integrated Learning (WIL), including reflection templates and assessment rubrics. • Collaborate with academic managers, subject experts and quality assurance teams to ensure contextual relevance. Minimum Requirements • Master’s degree in Education or a related field (PhD is an advantage). • At least 5 years’ experience in curriculum development for higher education programmes (preferably BEd/PGCE). • Proven experience teaching or developing teacher education content. • Strong understanding of South African education policies, CHE standards and curriculum frameworks. • Experience in instructional design, Project-Based Learning and online/blended learning content. Skills and Competencies • Excellent academic writing and instructional design skills. • Ability to contextualise complex academic concepts for diverse learners. • Strong planning and time management skills. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital authoring tools. • Commitment to inclusive education and innovative teaching approaches. This is a contract-based opportunity. The role is remote with potential in-person engagements.
