Job description

Sparks Electrical News, a business-to-business magazine aimed primarily at electricians and electrical contractors, is looking for an editor. The position requires a positive and gregarious person with a collaborative and inclusive approach to working with a team. This person will manage content across the print and digital platforms and ensure the title’s relevance by sourcing articles and interviewing key contributors. The editor will be responsible for the production process – guaranteeing that the monthly print and online publications and the weekly newsletter are released on time – and will be comfortable offering suggestions to promote the growth of the title.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
  • Strong writing/grammatical skills
  • Fully computer literate
  • Manage production schedules, timelines and deadlines
  • Able to operate under pressure
  • Have at least five years’ experience in B2B publishing
  • Strong digital skills
  • Able to grow the social media platform
  • Work well in a team
  • Customer service oriented
Personal skills/attributes
  • Strong verbal, written and communication skills in English
  • Good work ethic
  • Willingness to take responsibility for quality and delivery
  • Able to work to deadlines
  • Good with clients and able to nurture relationships
