Job descriptionBackgroundSTADIO is a multi-campus higher education institution with a national footprint, as well as hosting several student support centres in South Africa and Namibia. Key roles and responsibilities: 1. Academic project management (15%) &• Monitor and implement academic quality standards across the programme. &• Implement teaching and learning policies, norms, and processes. &• Support HOS and HOC with quality assurance audits and compliance. &• Contribute to and implement School Improvement Plans (SIPs). &• Prepare for CHE and other regulatory site visits and accreditation. &• Manage academic due dates and annual calendar deadlines. &• Analyse assessment outcomes and moderator reports and drive improvements. 2. Student Success and programme Delivery (20%) &• Liaise with key academic staff to coordinate programme delivery. &• Manage and implement at-risk and student retention policies. &• Handle student complaints within the programme. &• Support academic orientation and programme-specific induction. &• Collaborate with C4AS on academic success training. &• Contribute to timetable development aligned with the learning model. &• Ensure consistent communication with staff and students. &• Track academic calendar compliance for the programme. 3. Industry engagement and workplace readiness (10%) &• Organise at least one applied learning seminar per year. &• Build local industry and professional networks. &• Promote student networking and applied learning opportunities. &• Arrange seasonal school programmes (summer/winter). &• Support C4AS with workplace readiness activities. 4. Resource management (15%) &• Oversee programme budget implementation and monitoring. &• Ensure library and specialist resources meet programme needs. &• Contribute to academic workload allocations in consultation with HOS. 5. Academic leadership and staff management (20%) &• Manage appointments of academic staff for the programme. &• Coordinate staff induction and mentoring. &• Oversee academic staff performance and development. &• Facilitate effective communication between school and campus. &• Performance standards: &• All academic staff have active development plans. &• All staff inducted and aligned with standards. &• Academic activities align with institutional expectations. &• Effective coordination and reporting between school and campus. 6. Governance (20%) &• Represent the school(s) on campus manco. &• Meet all governance deadlines and reporting requirements. &• Lead regular programme staff meetings. &• Participate constructively in school committees and initiatives. &• Ensure compliance with institutional policies and SOPs.
