The Tourism Business Council of South Africa (TBCSA) has welcomed the reappointment of Nkhumeleni Victor Tharage as the department of tourism's director general (DG).
Tharage will serve a new five-year term and has been given the responsibility of steering the department's efforts to salvage the tourism sector from total collapse due to Covid-19 and current lockdown regulations in South Africa.
"We believe Tharage's leadership and wealth of experience will continue to steer the department in the right direction as the tourism plans for recovery. We look forward to furthering engagements with the DG and wish him well for his tenure," says CEO of TBCSA, Tshifhiwa Tshivhengwa.
