Commercial hit radio station, 5FM, has appointed Theledi Matlala Marketing Manager, effective immediately.
Theledi's move into commercial radio comes after three years in the advertising industry as a strategist for Inroads, as part of the team that won the Cell C retail account, and prior to that at Lobedu Leo Burnett. Theledi holds a Chemical Engineering National diploma from Technikon Witwatersrand and a Post- Graduate Diploma in Integrated Marketing Communications.
Added Theledi: "I am joining 5fm during what is probably the most exciting time in the history of the radio station. With the recent re-positioning of the 5fm brand in the marketplace, I look forward to being a part of the team that will drive the station to greater heights! As the first Black woman to join the marketing team, I hope to bring a fresh perspective in terms of the broader South African market that the station targets. I am extremely excited, and look forward to the challenge!"
