Two will fill vacancies in the Supreme Court of Appeal and four vacancies at the country's High Courts.
The appointments were done in terms of section 174(6) of the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa, 1996, and on the advice of the Judicial Service Commission, the Presidency said on Monday, 1 June.
Among those appointed include Nambitha Dambuza and Rammaka Steven Mathopo as Judges of the Supreme Court of Appeal, Bloemfontein. Their appointment is with effect from Monday.
Achmat Naaim Jappie was appointed as the Judge President of the KwaZulu-Natal Division of the High Court, Pietermaritzburg, while Justice Ephraim Mampuru Makgoba as Judge President of the Limpopo Division of the High Court, Polokwane.
Gerald Hercules Bloem is the new Judge of the Eastern Cape Division of the High Court, Grahamstown, while Selby Mfanelo Mbenenge will be the new Judge of the Eastern Cape Division of the High Court, Bhisho.
"We wish these members of our judiciary all the best in the execution of their duties," said President Zuma.
