Uganda Telecom has announced its official sponsorship of Sports Club Villa for the 2008/9 Super League Season.
The one year renewable package is worth over 100 million Uganda shillings (approx. US$60,000). The telecoms company will be the official communications sponsor for the team, and will provide branded player kit as well as cash incentives for the team and individuals.
Formed in 1975, Sports Club Villa is said to be the oldest football club in Uganda and has won 16 league titles.
Uganda Telecom Marketing Manager, Levi Nyakundi believes the partnership fits well with the company's strategic plan of recognising and supporting leading local sports personalities and institutions.
