Author of Edge Publishing's 'Conference & Events Management Textbook' used for third year tourism students taking events management as an elective in 2013, 2014 and 2015, Watkins has been approached to produce two more conferences, events and exhibitions textbooks for second and third year events management students for 2016 and 2017.
Her expertise is based on seven years of academic lecturing on these subjects, followed by eight years of Masterclass presentations across South Africa, Namibia, Botswana and Mauritius. Her professional workshops cover conferences, events and exhibitions, writing skills, public relations & marketing and management skills for women.
Watkins is a member of the Services chapter of Southern African Association for the Conference Industry (SAACI), an Oversight Committee member of the South African Freelancers' Association (SAFREA) and a member of the South African Science Journalists' Association (SASJA).
