AdVantage, Markex partner for ad agency village

AdVantage magazine and Markex have partnered to launch an ‘advertising agency village' to showcase the creative industries at the annual trade and consumer show in Johannesburg next month, 9 - 11 June 2009.

The section will enable agencies to display their award-winning campaigns and creative branding ideas at a nominal fee. The focus of the agency village will be visual and will include a presentation area where speakers will be able to hold forth on industry campaigns that work; a meeting area; a pause area; open stands and a long wine bar.

AdVantage editor, Louise Marsland, believes it is incumbent on trade publications to add value to their communities by creating opportunities to do business: “This is a great opportunity for those agencies that are not necessarily in the Big Five or Top Ten to showcase their talent to marketers and corporate brands that may not have them on their radar - yet. We look forward to being a part of this initiative.”

Discounted rate

Markex Johannesburg takes place at the Sandton Convention Centre and a special, discounted rate is being offered to creative shops to get involved to promote the industry and their services to the more than 11 000 show goers in Gauteng alone.

Markex & World Events bills itself as a platform to introduce the latest innovative products and solutions directly to the industry - thus creating a direct resource for marketers to add value to any marketing effort.

"We view this as an important exhibition servicing our industry and an excellent vehicle for spreading reliable information to members on the marketing companies available and what they have to offer," says Chris de Villiers, executive director of the Marketing Association of SA (MASA). "Markex provides a valuable service and the quality of the product delivered is exceptionally high."

Create more awareness

Inspired by a desire to create more awareness of the benefit of exhibitions to the advertising community, and to bring the advertising industry closer to their clients and prospects, Markex conceptualised the Advertising Agency Village, and approached AdVantage to be its partner.
“We felt the time was right to introduce a dedicated section for advertising agencies to introduce their diverse offerings to the industry," said Lynn Chamier, Markex exhibition director.
